My Commitment to Our Community-

is to offer services in an accessible and sustainable way.

I am intentional about providing resources available on the site, as well as providing a select number of sliding scale slots based on income. I incorporate a pay-it-forward system to those who are able to invest through market price and seasonal rates. This helps to contribute towards building a sustainable and stronger community of healing, wellness, and accessibility.

When we use our actions to take care of the community,

We are investing in taking care of ourselves and our future.

Thank you for your intentionality, neighbor.

Wellness FAQs

  • The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Study is one of the largest and most influential public health studies ever conducted. It found a direct link between early childhood trauma and lifelong physical and mental health outcomes.

What are Adverse Childhood Experiences? They include things like:

    • Emotional or physical neglect

    • Witnessing domestic violence

    • Living in poverty or with someone with mental illness or addiction

    • Experiencing racism, discrimination, or historical trauma

The more ACEs a person has, the higher their risk for increased negative outcomes:

    • Chronic illnesses (heart disease, diabetes, cancer autoimmune conditions)

    • Mental health struggles (depression, anxiety, addiction, suicide)

    • Early death — by up to 20 years

    • Increased Physical Injury

    • Difficulty in relationships, affecting overall happiness and fulfillment

    • Maternal Health-Fetal Death, Unintended Pregnancy, Complications

    • Missed Opportunities- Education, Career, Income

But here’s the key- Early trauma doesn’t have to predict your future—therapy is one of the few proven interventions that can reverse or reduce these long-term effects.

    You can learn more here.

  • Book a free consultation and get your questions answered. During our call, we can work together to go over your needs and what you’re looking for at this time. If I am not a good fit for you, I will provide you with other options and resources that can help you to move forward towards healing.

  • If you're hesitating to spend $200–$700 on therapy, it’s worth comparing that to the hidden costs of untreated trauma:

    • Lost of productivity or burnout at work

    • Preventable Conflict in relationships.

    • Missed opportunities in work, relationships, enjoyment due to fear, burnout, or low self-worth

    • Unhelpful coping strategies (alcohol, food, tech, over-spending, hours lost scrolling, overthinking, worrying with no solution)

    • Medical bills and prolonged discomforts from stress-related illness (hypertension, panic attacks, sleeping problems, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, digestive issues, etc.)

    • Generational traumas that are passed on to those we love.

Therapy is preventative care. You're not just paying to feel better now—you're investing in fewer health costs, better decisions, stronger relationships, a longer, healthier life, a positive change for the future.

  • It makes complete sense that spending more—especially on something intangible like therapy—might feel wrong or bring up an immediate trigger response. That’s valid. When generations before us had to stretch every dollar or were denied access to resources, learning to ‘make it work’ became an act of survival wisdom. But you’re here because you realize that investing in therapy isn’t just about you. It’s about your body, your health, your relationships, your work, your interactions with your children, your future.

When you invest in the right type of therapy that fit’s your needs, you’re interrupting deep generational cycles of pain- the struggles that cost us our energy, our sleep, conflicts that didn’t need to happen, even affecting our own self worth. Healing finally allows for us to release old wounds and move on. You can honor the part of you that knows how to survive and also take steps toward a new kind of future. You don’t have to choose between being responsible and being cared for. You deserve both.

Today, we are much more resourceful and abundant in the options that lay ahead. Maybe creating a budget, utilizing an HSA or FSA through work, or creating a plan would be the first step towards really prioritizing your healthcare needs. Just like in the way you would plan for a trip in the months ahead, set goals and dreams for an educational advancement, or structure ways to pay for a car or computer, these investments should be treated intentionally and with care. After all, it’s a commitment towards your overall quality of life.

What does success in therapy look like?

Success in therapy looks like engagement to the best of our abilities, being open to collaboration, and discussing things that are not working so that we can find another approach. My mission is to help you get the best out of your healing journey.

Although therapy can feel uncomfortable at times, success can look like subtle changes in perspective, subtle shifts in reactions to previously triggering experiences, and feelings of relief, peace, and an overall sense of growth and balance overtime.

What can I expect after the consultation?

If we decide to work together, you will be sent instructions for how to sign up with King Counseling LLC. Soon afterwards, you will start your first scheduled session and begin the journey.

✺ Intensive FAQs ✺

  • Participating in a 2-3-day Intensive may create impactful change more efficiently than just weekly, 50-minute sessions or even one half-day intensive.

During your initial consultation and assessment, we will work together to determine the right fit for you.

Intensive sessions are similar to going on a personal retreat. They’re memorable, impactful, and highly transformative.

It’s recommended that you fill the time with space that’s unscheduled, unhurried, and catered towards taking care of yourself: movement, nature, being around trusted friends or pets, music, and creative expression.

  • Traditional therapy requires time and energy week after week. You might have noticed that your concern continues to linger. Intensives are for you if:

    • If you've been in talk therapy before but aren't sure why you haven't gotten the level of change you’ve been wanting, intensives would be a good fit.

    • You're looking for a deeper type of therapy that can bring quick changes in your life.

    • You're still affected by painful experiences from your past.

    • You have some time off and want to use it for mental wellness.

    • You've tried Brainspotting or EMDR before and found it helpful.

    • You're preparing for a big life event, performance, or transition and want to be ready.

    • You currently go to therapy regularly with a therapist but feel stuck and think something more immersive like a weekend Intensive would help to change things up.

This structure is designed for those who want streamlined services, designed for healing to happen in 1-3 days, giving you back more of your peace, relief, and time in the long run.

This can depend on the type of work that we do and the type of symptoms that we are working with.

    Benefits Reported by Clients

    • Reduced nightmares, flashbacks, and panic attacks

    • Increased emotional resilience and capacity to self-soothe

    • Better relationship boundaries and interpersonal safety

    • Greater sense of identity and agency

    • Decreased somatic symptoms like migraines, digestive issues, or chronic pain

    • Access to Subcortical Brain Regions:
Brainspotting works directly with the areas of the brain responsible for survival, regulation, and implicit memory — especially the amygdala, hippocampus, and brainstem — where trauma is often stored.

Talk therapy focuses on the pre-frontal cortex, where we can often get too caught up analyzing the experiences rather than moving the body through the experience.

    • Bilateral Sound Stimulation:
Sessions can also include bilateral music or tones that help the brain process more smoothly and deeply.

    • Non-Verbal Trauma Processing:
Clients are not required to talk extensively about the trauma yet still receive the healing affects of the treatment.

    • Neuroplasticity and Regulation:
Brainspotting promotes emotional regulation and neural rewiring, helping clients move out of hypervigilant, stuck, or dissociated states common in PTSD and C-PTSD.
